Gray, Bowman (Jr.)

(1907–69) cigarette executive; born in Winston-Salem, N.C. In 1930 he joined R. J. Reynolds Tobacco (of which his father was president), and served variously as president, chairman, and CEO (1959–69). A prominent apologist for the tobacco industry, he was responsible for developing the Winston and Salem brands and diversifying the company into the food industry.Bowman Gray

My first time coming to Bowman Gray Stadium was in 1963 to watch a football game when I was a student at Wake Forest College (University now). I later learned that they had NASCAR sanctioned automobile racing at this stadium since 1949 when the track was opened by NASCAR. 72 rows  Bowman Gray Stadium was a popular venue for high school football in the 1970s and 1980s.
