File: 84 KB, 220x257, ReturntoZorkCoverart.png Anonymous Sat Oct 20 09:download a free version of Return to Zorkgood audio, but no full video for the characterspay for full gamefull video, but MIDI audioI just want the same time experience I had in the past.Drunk, will come back later. Anonymous Sat Oct 20 10:Torrent the original.Anonymous Sat Oct 20 15:not playing the FMV ReelMagic version of the gameReelMagic MPEG decoder cards only, you can't play this version any other way.Anonymous Sat Oct 20 16:Guess I will.Yeah I saw that.Anonymous Sat Oct 20 17:Is there a iso for a download?Anonymous Sat Oct 20 17:While it's possible to find.iso's of ReelMagic versions of games, you won't be able to actually play them unless you have a PC from back then with a ReelMagic MPEG decoder card. You can actually view the videos for Dragon's Lair without the card, since they were basic MPEG videos, but not for Return to Zork, since they used a proprietary MPEG-like codec that the hardware decoded for you. While 3dfx's Glide technology has been revived and is emulateable in the modern era, ReelMagic is effectively lost to time. You can still get the cards for less than $100, and that's your only way of playing the ReelMagic versions.Anonymous Sat Oct 20 18:Torrent was the same version I just paid for.

Isn't there a way to switch the audio?Anonymous Sat Oct 20 18:Even scummvm can't play those games? What a shameAnonymous Sat Oct 20 18:Not scummvm, not PCem, not 86Box, not DosBOX. ReelMagic MPEG decoder card(ISA preferred) only. And you need the right pass-through cable to connect it to your video cards as well. Even worse, there is absolutely zero interest or effort being made by anyone to emulate ReelMagic hardware or the games that used it. To do so would require some serious reverse engineering work to figure out how they managed to get 640x480 full screen 24-bit color depth video at a solid smooth 30fps on 33mhz 486 machines with 4MBs of RAM.Anonymous Sat Oct 20 18:Yes, run Return to Zork through scummvm.

The background music sequences in Return to Zork, although short, are quite good and really help to set an otherworldly mood in the gameplay (as long as you don't mind tuba). They may be played through separate audio tracks on the CD-ROM. Unfortunately, Boos' toasting music is not included. Abbreviations used for movement through mazes. Return To Zork PC-FX Adventure The story begins with the play winning a luxury trip to Valley of the Sparrows, Zork, but shortly after he founds out that the city is under a dark spell which makes him fully dysfunctional.

By default, it will run the CD version using MIDI music instead of the CD audio. See for details:Anonymous Sat Oct 20 18:Thanks, anon, I will give this a try.Anonymous Sat Oct 20 18:File: 51 KB, 977x489, ZRK.png Hmm, well I did all as instructed and got this error:Anonymous Sat Oct 20 19:Ooooh, I see the problem.

I got the game from GOG, and this apparently isn't used with that.Anonymous Sat Oct 20 20:If you want MIDI music, you need to supply scummvm with the midi instrument files like the error message is complaining about. F1 2015 round 10. You said you already downloaded the floppy version with MIDI? Just copy and paste those two files over, SAMPLE.AD and SAMPLE.OPL. I have no idea why I don't see those files on the CD.Anonymous Sat Oct 20 20:No, I saw elsewhere on that site and on the GOG forums that the GOG download of the game doesn't work with scummvm. The game doesn't even have the files necessary.Anonymous Sat Oct 20 22:And I've seen a thread on the GOG forums explaining how to use the GOG version with scummvm. The GOG version is literally the CD version renamed to RTZ.GOG, with dosbox included and pre-setup. You rename the RTZ.GOG to RTZ.ISZ, and you can open the image file in daemon tools or whatever.iso manipulation program you have.

Details here:Like I said, I have no idea why the CD is missing the SAMPLE.AD and SAMPLE.OPL files, but the CD version does seem to work with MIDI, so you should just be able to copy+paste the files from the floppy version and it should work. Otherwise I don't know why there would be so many people saying it does work.Anonymous Sun Oct 21 00:File: 56 KB, 225x249, boos.jpg Turns out I was being stupid and was messing in a shortcut folder, that for some reason was separate from the main folder. I think me having a massive headache from drinking so much didn't help my concentration.Couldn't get it to work right still, though, so I just downloaded the CD Rom version elsewhere and ran it through ScummVm and it works perfectly now. Time to Zork.Anonymous Sun Oct 21 03:Waant some rye? Corse you do!Anonymous Sun Oct 21 09:Lol I had started the beginning of but game so much messing with the sound that when I began for real I forgot to dig up the bonding plant.

I hope I don't need it before I can get back to the mountain pass and that I didn't just make the game unwinnable.Anonymous Sun Oct 21 09:File: 45 KB, 640x399, LighthouseKeeper-1.png he forgot to dig up the bonding plantAnonymous Sun Oct 21 09:stab lighthouse keeperAnonymous Sun Oct 21 10:You can not only get back there and get the plant, if you accidentally fucked up and killed the plant you can go back and get another at that point. You just need to continue until you can fast-travel.Anonymous Sun Oct 21 10:Yeah that's what I remembered. Baba is you free. Cool.I also skipped the lighthouse keeper since I talked to him twice already when I was messing around with the music and becasue of that my Teleorb never ran out of batteries, and now I have a new battery that is not needed.Anonymous Sun Oct 21 12:Welp, done with Canuks' island and now I'm rightly stuck.
